A-50 aircraft damaged during Ukrainian strike on Russian aviation plant
Ukraine's General Staff has reported on strikes carried out by the defence forces against Russian facilities on the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine on the night of 19-20 March. It also confirmed that an A-50 aircraft had been damaged following a strike on a Russian aviation plant on 17 March.

Details: Ukrainian forces struck facilities at the Alchevsk metallurgical plant in the temporarily occupied part of Luhansk Oblast. The plant is involved in the manufacture of artillery shell casings (casting and primary processing of large-calibre blanks), as well as in the production and repair of armoured steel for Russian military equipment.
Infrastructure at the Vostochnyi training ground in Novopetrivka in the temporarily occupied part of Zaporizhzhia Oblast was also hit.
The extent of the damage and Russian losses are being confirmed.
In addition, the military is determining the outcome of the 17 March strike on facilities at the 123rd aircraft repair plant in the town of Staraya Russa (Novgorod Oblast, Russia).
Damage to an A-50 airborne early warning and control aircraft has also been confirmed. It was at the plant undergoing maintenance and may have been awaiting modernisation.
