Ukraine's chief negotiator and US envoy Witkoff report progress following talks
Rustem Umierov, head of the Ukrainian delegation and National Security and Defence Council Secretary, has said that progress has been made in aligning positions and narrowing the range of unresolved issues after the second day of meetings with the US delegation in Florida.

Details: Umierov said that the parties focused "on issues of reliable security guarantees and the humanitarian track, in particular the exchange and return of our citizens" during Sunday's meetings.
"We have made progress in aligning positions and further narrowing the range of unresolved issues," he stated.
"We thank the United States for its consistent engagement in the negotiation process. We expect that the achieved momentum will allow us to move on to the next stage of meetings," Umierov added.
For his part, Witkoff said that on Sunday "the constructive talks built on yesterday's progress and focused on key points to define a durable and dependable security framework for Ukraine, as well as critical humanitarian efforts in the region".
Background:
- On 22 March, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said following meetings between the Ukrainian and US negotiating teams that there were signs that Kyiv-Moscow prisoner exchanges might continue.
- On 21 March, Umierov stated that representatives of Ukraine and the US in Florida had continued discussions on further steps within the negotiation process, while Witkoff described the meeting between the Ukrainian and US delegations as constructive, noting it focused on "narrowing and resolving remaining items".
