Ukrainian forces destroy rare Russian asset in Luhansk Oblast for second time in war

Ukrainian soldiers from the Phoenix border guard unit have destroyed an R-416G-MS mobile station which the Russians used to transmit digital communications between frontline positions and command posts.

Details: Ukrainian military said this is one of Russia's newer developments, designed to build communications networks and organise the transmission of digital data streams. In practice, the station is used by the Russian troops to maintain communications between the front line and command posts.

The station was first spotted in use in 2018. So far, only one other confirmed strike on an R-416G-MS was recorded, in June 2024.
