Zelenskyy says Qatar's emir had high praise for Ukrainian drone defence experts

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that the Emir of Qatar had high praise for the work of the Ukrainian experts who are sharing their experience in air defence.

Details: In Doha, Zelenskyy met with a team of Ukrainian experts who are in Qatar to share their knowledge and expertise on air defence. The Ukrainian specialists briefed the president on their work and achievements. They have conducted an overall assessment of Qatar's security situation and its capabilities for countering aerial threats and developed concrete measures to strengthen air defence.

Quote from Zelenskyy: "Today, during the meeting with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, it was significant for me to hear such high praise for the work of our team and gratitude for their advice."

Details: According to the Ukrainian experts, ballistic missile and drone strikes are currently the region's greatest challenge. While only air defence systems are effective against ballistic threats, Ukraine has developed significantly cheaper solutions to counter drones.

"They have already proven their effectiveness against various types of drones, which is why Qatar is so interested in our experience. Ukraine always emphasises that we are ready to share our expertise and assist those who, in turn, can help us strengthen our own defence," Zelenskyy stressed.

Zelenskyy noted that Qatar is ready to establish long-term cooperation across various areas.

Background: The chiefs of the General Staffs of Ukraine and Qatar signed an agreement on a mutually beneficial defence partnership for at least ten years, Zelenskyy reported.
