Zelenskyy: We are ready for Easter and energy ceasefires

Ukraine is ready for a ceasefire during the Easter holidays and for an energy ceasefire, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated.

Quote: "We are ready for a ceasefire during the Easter holidays. In my view, frankly speaking, normal people who respect life talk about a ceasefire and ending the war for life, not for a few days. But we are, of course, ready for any compromises, except compromises with our dignity and sovereignty."

Details: Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine supports any ceasefire formats and the end of the war in general, "but when you do not lose the dignity and independence of the state".

When asked whether Russia might use such a ceasefire to strengthen its positions, Zelenskyy expressed confidence that "in two or three days they will not be able to strengthen anything".

"They, as we remember, promised to do something in three days and failed," the president concluded, recalling the Russian propaganda message in February 2022 that their forces would be able to "take Kyiv in three days".
