Russia launches 339 drones overnight, Ukrainian air defences intercept 298, but some hits recorded

Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 339 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones on the night of 31 March-1 April. About 200 of the UAVs have been Shahed loitering munitions.

Details: Early reports indicated that as of 08:00, Ukrainian air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 298 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones in the country's north, south, east, west and centre.

Hits by 20 UAVs had been recorded at 11 locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at 5 locations.

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.

The attack is ongoing, as about 20 Russian drones are still in Ukrainian airspace.
