EU ambassador condemns new Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities

EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarína Mathernová has condemned today's Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities.

Details: Mathernová noted that the new wave of strikes took place while some Christians were observing Good Friday.

Quote: "On Good Friday, another Russian attack – drones & cruise missiles. In the Kyiv region, an apartment building, civilian infrastructure & veterinary clinic were hit. Emergency power outages imposed. Russia is shifting tactics to morning/day strikes. 24/7 terror must stop!"

Background:

• During 3 April, Russian strikes affected not only Kyiv Oblast but also Zhytomyr Oblast and Kharkiv and Pavlohrad as well as frontline cities, particularly Kramatorsk and Kherson, leaving people killed and injured.
• Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has invited a US negotiating delegation to Kyiv.
• He also said Ukraine will finalise a document on security guarantees from the United States in the coming days.
