Zelenskyy speaks about meetings in Damascus, including talks involving Türkiye

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that in addition to a meeting with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, talks have been held involving Ukrainian and Syrian teams as well as a trilateral meeting between representatives of Ukraine, Syria and Türkiye.

Quote: "A significant day of talks in Damascus – today, a bilateral format with President of Syria Ahmed al-Sharaa took place, as well as negotiations involving our teams, and there was a trilateral discussion – Ukraine, Syria, and Türkiye. We are building new relations, new opportunities, and expanding our efforts to ensure security."
Details: Zelenskyy noted that the meetings had covered "everything: from security and defense issues and the situation in the region caused by developments around Iran, to energy and infrastructure cooperation between our countries".
"We will also continue work on food security. We discussed in detail how to overcome the consequences of the war, as well as the negotiation process regarding Russia's war against our state and our people," he added.
Background: Zelenskyy, following a meeting with Ahmed al-Sharaa, stated that there is strong interest in exchanging military and security experience.
