Details: Initially, the statement said a different frigate, Admiral Grigorovich, was hit. However, open-source intelligence analysts noted that the vessel is currently in the Mediterranean Sea. Brovdi later updated his post.

Air defence missile launches are carried out directly from the frigate as the target is approached, but this did not prevent the Ukrainian drones from striking the vessel.

The operation was carried out by the Ptakhy (Birds) unit of the 1st Separate Centre of the Unmanned Systems Forces and was planned and coordinated by the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU). The intelligence services are gathering the information on the extent of the damage, Brovdi added.

It was also reported that the Unmanned Systems Forces, together with the Ukrainian Navy's deep-strike forces, struck the Russian Sivash jack-up drilling rig.

Background: On the evening of 5 April, Russian social media and local authorities reported a drone attack on the Russian city of Novorossiysk. Astra, a Russian Telegram channel, reported that the Sheskharis oil terminal was targeted.
