Sloviansk thermal power plant halts operations after Russian attacks

The Sloviansk Thermal Power Plant (TPP), located in the city of Mykolaivka near Sloviansk in Donetsk Oblast, halted operations on 6 April as a result of Russian attacks.

Details: DTEK Group expressed its sympathy to colleagues at Donbasenergo, the major Ukrainian power producer that owns the Sloviansk TPP.

Background:
- Three employees of the Sloviansk TPP were killed after Russian forces launched a drone attack on their vehicle on the morning of 17 February.
- In March, work began in Sloviansk to dismantle the trolleybus contact network in order to install anti-drone nets, and trolleybuses were temporarily taken out of the city.
- On 31 March, Russian forces struck railway infrastructure in Sloviansk, Donetsk Oblast.
