Residents of seven oblasts remain without electricity

Some consumers in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts temporarily remain without electricity as a result of hostilities and Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.

Details: Power engineers are working at full capacity to restore electricity supplies to all consumers as quickly as possible. Repair works are continuing around the clock, the ministry said.

Consumers in Kyiv Oblast also remain without electricity because of bad weather. Repair teams are working to resume supplies.
Background:
- Russian forces have attacked Ukraine with 119 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones since the evening of 8 April. Ukrainian air defences downed 99 of the UAVs, but hits have been recorded.
- Russian forces struck an oil refinery in Merefa in Kharkiv Oblast with drones on the night of 7-8 April.
- As a result of Russian drone attacks and artillery strikes on energy infrastructure in frontline regions, households in Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Sumy oblasts remain without power as of the morning of 8 April.
