Head of Zelenskyy's Office links strengthening of Ukraine's negotiating position to strikes on Russian oil terminals
Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the President's Office of Ukraine, has stated during a briefing at the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities that strikes on Russian oil terminals are affecting the negotiating process and predicted "much that is new" from the Russians at the next round of talks.

Quote: "At the next negotiations with them (the Russians – ed.), I think we will hear a great deal that is new. In any case, this significantly strengthens our position and does not make it, as they say, weak."
Details: Budanov says Ukraine must do everything to strengthen its "winning position". "And any means of achieving the goal are justified and correct," the head of Zelenskyy's Office stated.
Background:
- On 6 April, it was reported that Special Operations Centre Alpha (part of the Security Service of Ukraine), working together with Ukraine's defence forces, was behind a strike on the Sheskharis oil-loading terminal at the Russian seaport of Novorossiysk in Krasnodar Krai on the night of 5-6 April.
- On 7 April, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that as a result of a Ukrainian defence forces attack on 7 April, the Ust-Luga oil terminal in Russia's Leningrad Oblast sustained damage.
