Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's party Fidesz has accused the opposition Tisza party of supposedly planning to buy votes from Roma voters.

Details: Fidesz claimed that it has obtained an audio recording suggesting that Tisza may have planned to buy Roma votes.

The party stated that it will file a criminal complaint over suspected offences against the electoral process.

Fidesz asserted that the recording features Stefán Attila, the "right-hand man" of Tisza's chief of staff, discussing plans to provide financial assistance to Roma voters disguised as donations.

Background: Recent opinion polls ahead of Hungary's parliamentary elections show that the Tisza party led by Péter Magyar is ahead of Fidesz by 9, 11 and 13 percentage points across different categories.
