Details: Before the full-scale invasion, the arena regularly hosted Ukraine's national indoor athletics championships. Renowned Ukrainian runner Tetiana Melnyk reacted emotionally to the destruction of the venue.
"This place was not just a building. Every winter, the Ukrainian championships were held there – it was a place of victories, pre-start nerves, support, and emotions that cannot be forgotten. Without exaggeration, it was the best indoor arena in Ukraine. So many memories, so much work, dreams and moments that shape both an athlete and a person. And today it has simply been destroyed. Inhuman," the athlete wrote on Instagram.

It is worth noting that around 10 explosions were heard in Sumy overnight, followed by a large fire in the city.
The Russian attack also damaged residential buildings, cars and a medical facility. At least 15 people have been reported injured so far, including children.
