Details: Residents of Syzran filmed drones flying over residential buildings. Air defence response could also be heard in the footage.

Eyewitnesses discussed the attack on local Telegram channels, reporting explosions.

An open source intelligence (OSINT) analysis by Astra confirmed that the video had been filmed on 50 Let Oktyabrya Avenue in Syzran, capturing a residential building at 50 Zoryanaya Street.

According to Astra, the local oil refinery is located around three kilometres from the identified location.

For reference: Industry sources say that last year oil processing at the Syzran refinery was significantly below its design capacity, at around 90,000 barrels per day or 4.3 million metric tonnes annually.

The plant produced 800,000 tonnes of petrol, 1.5 million tonnes of diesel fuel and 700,000 tonnes of fuel oil in the same year.

Update: Fedorishchev confirmed in the morning that drones had attacked Syzran.

He said the entrance section of a high-rise residential building had partially collapsed.

Background: The Syzran oil refinery suspended operations in early December 2025 after being damaged in a Ukrainian drone strike.
