Former Polish president Duda arrives in Kyiv

Former Polish president Andrzej Duda has arrived in Kyiv to take part in the 18th Kyiv Security Forum.

Details: The two-day forum begins on Thursday 23 April in the Ukrainian capital. The theme of the forum is "Darkness or Dawn: is light ahead?".

Key topics include international solidarity with Ukraine, transatlantic unity and global security.

Previously: Prince Harry also arrived in Kyiv and will take part in the Kyiv Security Forum.

Background:

• Duda said in winter he would consider the idea of becoming Poland's prime minister if such an offer were made to him.
• Duda delivered his final address as president in August 2025, in which he pledged to continue "active engagement" both domestically and internationally.
