Russian forces attack Danube and Odesa ports: buildings and vessel damaged

Russian forces continued attacks on ports along the Danube and in Odesa Oblast on the night of 24-25 April.

Details: Both port infrastructure facilities and a civilian vessel came under attack.

"As a result of the UAV attack, damage to warehouse areas and office buildings was recorded – windows were shattered in production and dispatch facilities. No fires broke out," the authority reported.

Separately, a civilian vessel flying the Panamanian flag was attacked while leaving port.

According to the administration, a fire broke out on board but was quickly extinguished by the crew. The vessel remained seaworthy and is continuing to its destination port.

No casualties were reported.

Background:

  • On the night of 23-24 April, a merchant vessel flying the flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis was damaged in a Russian drone strike while heading to a port in Odesa Oblast.
  • On the night of 21-22 April, one of the ports in Greater Odesa was again targeted by Russian drones.
