Drone pilots from Ukraine's 60th Separate Mechanised Brigade have used an unmanned ground vehicle to evacuate an elderly woman after she was spotted walking along a road exposed to Russian fire.

Details: Fighters from the Cerberus unmanned ground systems unit, who were conducting reconnaissance, saw the woman walking among shell craters. Footage later shows her falling. The soldiers decided to evacuate her.

More details: The military said the evacuated woman, 77, had lived in her home for 53 years before it was destroyed by Russian forces.

Quote: "Three more civilians who were leaving on foot were escorted by drones to the evacuation point. Once they reached an armoured vehicle, fighters from the 1st Mechanised Battalion took them out of the combat zone and transferred to the Angels patronage service from the 3rd Corps."

Background: Earlier, Ukrainian soldiers evacuated a cat and a dog from frontline positions using an unmanned aerial vehicle which flew the animals 12 km to safety.
