Zelenskyy: Another three countries join PURL programme

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that another three countries joined the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) programme during the informal summit of European Union member states. The programme enables Ukraine's allies to fund US-made weapons and ammunition in line with Kyiv's priority needs.

Details: Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha reported new agreements reached by Zelenskyy during his trip to Cyprus on contributions to the PURL programme.
The Ukrainian president was asked to comment on this information.
"We are grateful to three countries. We agreed that information about which countries joined the PURL programme during the Cyprus meeting would remain non-public," he replied.
Zelenskyy said their contribution to the programme will amount to €350-400 million.
Background:
- Earlier, Zelenskyy said Ukraine is facing a shortage of air defence systems despite uninterrupted deliveries of US weapons under the PURL programme.
- Last week, Ukraine's Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said that several countries announced new contributions to the PURL initiative during a meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group (also known as the Ramstein format).
