Details: Astra, citing local residents, reported at night that drones had likely attacked the Sverdlov explosives plant in Dzerzhinsk. Explosions were heard in the area and a column of smoke was later seen rising nearby.
Russian authorities have not officially commented on the reported attack.
The Sverdlov Plant is a major facility in Dzerzhinsk and part of Russia's military-industrial complex.
It is a strategically important defence-related chemical facility, one of the largest producers of explosives in Russia, which has a history spanning more than 100 years and is of significant industrial importance.
The facility has already been targeted by drones several times before.
Rosaviatsiya announced after 05:00 that temporary restrictions had been introduced on the arrival and departure of aircraft at Perm airport, located southwest of the city, as well as at airports in Bugulma (Tatarstan), Ufa (Bashkortostan) and Izhevsk (Udmurt Republic).
Residents of Perm reported further explosions in the morning.
Background: Drones operated by the Special Operations Centre Alpha, part of the Security Service of Ukraine, struck the Perm linear production and dispatch station on the night of 28-29 April, located more than 1,500 km from the border with Ukraine. The attack caused a large fire at the facility. Satellite images indicate that at least two fuel storage tanks caught fire.
