The linear production and dispatch station belongs to Transneft, a Russian state-controlled pipeline company, and is a strategically important hub in Russia's main oil transport system. Oil is distributed through the station in four directions, including to the Perm oil refinery.

Major General Yevhenii Khmara, Head of the SSU, briefed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the attack, which is described as "our long-range sanctions".

Quote: "The straight-line distance is over 1,500 km. We will continue to extend these ranges, and these are entirely justified Ukrainian responses to Russian terror. It is important that every strike reduces the capabilities of Russia's military industry, logistics and oil exports.

The results are obvious to everyone. It is also obvious to everyone that Russia must end its war. It is time to move to diplomacy, and this is a signal that Moscow should hear."

Background: On 29 April, drones attacked industrial sites in the Russian cities of Orsk in Orenburg Oblast and Perm in Perm Krai, located more than 1,500 km from the Ukrainian border. A fire at the Orsk Oil Refinery has broken out, while the Lukoil Perm Refinery may also have been targeted.
