Finnish PM to Zelenskyy: Drone violations of our airspace are unacceptable

Source: Orpo in a comment to Finnish public broadcaster Yle, as reported by European Pravda
Details: Two drones are suspected of having violated Finnish airspace early on the morning of 3 May.
Orpo said he had discussed the issue during a bilateral meeting with Zelenskyy.
Quote: "I stressed that Finland supports Ukraine and understands its need to defend itself. However, it is unacceptable for Finnish airspace to be violated and for drones to enter our airspace."
Details: Orpo said the government has reliable information about the incidents that had taken place overnight. He noted that any breach of airspace is always a serious matter.
He emphasised that Finland is well prepared to monitor and protect its airspace from drone threats.
Orpo also noted that these capabilities will be significantly strengthened in the near future.
In addition, he said that following discussions with the Ukrainian government, Ukrainians would be "more careful in the future to ensure that drones do not enter Finnish airspace again".
Background:
- In the final days of March and in early April, four drones were found in various locations in south-eastern Finland, identified as Ukrainian UAVs that had broken away from a drone swarm intended to attack Russian territory.
- Zelenskyy proposed that Finland sign a bilateral agreement on drone cooperation during a meeting in Yerevan on 3 May.
