University student and basketball player: what is known about young man killed in Russian strike on Dnipro
Illia Bezbozhnyi, a 19-year-old university student from Myrnohrad, was killed in a Russian strike on Dnipro on 3 May. A Russian missile hit a dormitory where he and other students lived. The young man was in his second year at university.

Quote from the administration: "Illia was from Myrnohrad and studied at school No. 10. From a young age, he showed himself to be an honest, fair and open person respected by friends, teachers and everyone who knew him.
He was actively involved in sports and trained in the basketball department of the Myrnohrad City Council's youth sports school. He stood out for his perseverance, team spirit and genuine desire for development."
Details: The teenager studied software engineering.
"Illia was building his future and had dreams and goals that, sadly, he did not have time to realise. His life is an example of kindness, strength of character and humanity. The bright memory of Illia will forever remain in the hearts of his relatives, friends and the entire community," the administration said.
Background: Russian forces struck a residential area of Dnipro on 3 May, killing one person and injuring 11 others. Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration said people in the damaged student accommodation were sheltering in the basement.
