Russians hit branches of Ukraine's state-run postal service in three oblasts over two days – photo

One branch belonging to Ukrposhta, Ukraine's national postal service, has been destroyed and two have been significantly damaged by the Russians over the past two days.

Details: In Kherson, the building of a local branch was completely gutted by fire following a series of strikes. At the time of the attack, approximately 100 parcels were inside.
"We will compensate the owners for the value of each one. While we assess the damage and process the documentation, residents of the district will be served by the nearest operational Ukrposhta branches in Kherson," Smilianskyi stated.
In the town of Shostka in Sumy Oblast, eight stained-glass panels and seven windows were blown out in an overnight Russian attack. By dawn, the area had been cleared of debris and the damaged façade had been patched. Operations were restored by 5 May.
In addition, windows were blown out and walls damaged at a Ukrposhta branch in the village of Snovsk in Chernihiv Oblast. The branch's team moved to a shelter in time, so all staff are safe. The aftermath was dealt with by the evening of 5 May.

Background: Ukrposhta recorded a net loss of UAH 204.8 million (approx. US$4.6 million) in January-March 2026, up UAH 1.1 million from the same period last year.
