The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported that Ukrainian forces struck the Lukoil-owned Perm Oil Refinery in Russia's Perm Krai on 7 May.

Explosions and a fire were recorded on the premises of the facility. The fire broke out at an isomerisation unit, which is used to increase the octane rating of light petrol fractions, as well as at the AVT-2 crude oil distillation unit."

Details: The General Staff noted that the Lukoil Perm Refinery is one of Russia's largest oil refining facilities, with a design capacity of around 13 million tonnes of oil per year.

Quote: "It specialises in producing high-quality petroleum products, including petrol, diesel fuel and aviation fuel, which are used to meet the needs of the Russian occupation forces."The Unmanned Systems Forces also reported the strike on the refinery and published footage.

"Operators from the 1st Separate Centre struck the Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez oil refinery... The plant's design capacity is 13.1 million tonnes of oil per year. The facility produces over 60 types of products, including petrol, diesel fuel, lubricants and sulphur," they stated.

Background: On the morning of 7 May, explosions and a fire were reported at the Perm linear production and dispatch station in the Russian city of Perm, located more than 1,500 km from the border with Ukraine.
