One killed and 16 injured in Russian missile and drone attack on Kyiv

One person has been killed and 16 injured and residential buildings and infrastructure facilities have been damaged in a Russian missile and drone attack on the city of Kyiv on the night of 13-14 May.

Details: Authorities reported that debris from downed drones had caused a fire on the roof of a five-storey residential building in Kyiv's Dniprovskyi district.

Debris fell onto a roadway in the Holosiivskyi district.

Klitschko said that emergency services had been dispatched to the affected areas.

Tkachenko later reported that a car was on fire in a car park in the Solomianskyi district.

A residential building was damaged at another location in the Dniprovskyi district.

Officials noted that the Obolonskyi district had also been affected, with damage reported to a non-residential building.

Information regarding casualties is being confirmed.

Update at 03:45: Tkachenko said that a disused building had been damaged at another site in the Holosiivskyi district.

Update at 04:10: Tkachenko reported that a residential building in the Darnytskyi district had been damaged, causing part of the structure to collapse.

"There are people trapped under the rubble," he added.

Klitschko also reported that debris had fallen onto a multi-storey car park and a business centre building in the Obolonskyi district. Debris also struck an apartment on the 11th floor of a residential building, causing a fire.

Debris fell near a non-residential building at another location in the Darnytskyi district.

Debris also fell onto the grounds of a non-residential area in the Solomianskyi district.

Update at 04:19: Klitschko said that, according to early reports, structural elements had collapsed in a residential building in the Darnytskyi district and people could be trapped inside. Rescue workers were heading to the scene.

Kiosks and a petrol station also caught fire in the Darnytskyi district.

A house was hit in the Dniprovskyi district.

Klitschko later added that search and rescue operations were ongoing at the residential building in the Darnytskyi district where people remained trapped under the rubble.

Update at 04:58: Debris fell onto a business centre building in the Holosiivskyi district. Garages and a parked car caught fire in the Dniprovskyi district. Debris also struck an unfinished 25-storey building in Obolonskyi district.

"At this point, medics have hospitalised two people injured in the enemy attack on the capital. Emergency teams remain on duty at the strike sites," Klitschko wrote.

Klitschko later said that by 05:10, four people had been hospitalised in Kyiv.

Update at 05:43: Klitschko added that nine people injured in the large-scale Russian attack on the capital had been taken to hospital, while two were receiving outpatient treatment.

Update: Tkachenko reported that as of 06:40, 16 people had been injured in the attack and one person had been killed.
