Hungary revokes deportation order against Oschadbank cash-in-transit guards

A deportation order and three-year Schengen Area entry and residence ban imposed on seven employees of Ukraine's state-run Oschadbank was revoked by Hungary's Directorate-General for Aliens Policing on 18 May.

Details: The Hungarian side also ordered the relevant records to be immediately removed from state databases.

Earlier, Hungary decided to withdraw previous claims that the Ukrainian citizens had posed a threat to national security.

"It is notable that this announcement was only made after the relevant decisions had been challenged in court. Meanwhile, the Hungarian side did not wait for the court proceedings in Budapest to be completed and independently revoked the restrictions imposed," Oschadbank stated.

As a result, all restrictions introduced on 6 March 2026 have now been fully lifted.
