Death toll from overnight Russian attack on Kyiv rises to two, 78 injured

The number of people killed in the large-scale Russian attack on Kyiv on the night of 23-24 May has risen to two and 78 people have been injured.

Details: In addition to the two fatalities, 56 people were injured in the Russian attack on the capital.

Thirty of those injured, including two children, are being treated in Kyiv hospitals.

Klitschko added that emergency workers are still clearing rubble at some of the affected locations.

Update: After 12:00, it was reported that the number of people injured in Kyiv has risen to 69. Thirty-six of them were hospitalised, while the others are receiving outpatient treatment.

At around 14:00, the mayor reported that 77 people had been injured, 31 of whom are still in hospital. Three of them are in a serious condition.

As of 16:24, the number of people injured in the attack had risen to 78, as reported by the State Emergency Service.

Background: On the night of 23-24 May, Russian forces carried out a large-scale combined attack on Ukraine, launching 90 missiles and 600 drones of various types, including an Oreshnik intermediate-range ballistic missile, the Ukrainian Air Force reported.
