Details: Rostec said it had delivered a new batch of Su-35S 4++ generation multirole fighter jets to the Russian Aerospace Forces.
The corporation noted that the Su-35S is designed to "gain air superiority" and conduct strikes against ground infrastructure at considerable distances from its home airfields.

Rostec additionally quoted a Russian Aerospace Forces Su-35S pilot, who said that the aircraft are used to intercept aerial assets at long range, provide cover for strike groups and ground facilities, destroy drones, carry out precision strikes against ground and surface targets, and conduct reconnaissance and identify enemy positions deep behind the front line.
The corporation did not disclose the number of aircraft delivered.
The Su-35S is a Russian 4++ generation multirole fighter developed by Sukhoi on the basis of the Su-27. The aircraft is equipped with thrust-vectoring engines and can employ both air-to-air and air-to-surface missiles.

Since the start of the full-scale war in February 2022, these fighter jets have been used extensively in combat operations against Ukrainian forces.
Background:
- The previous delivery of Su-35S multirole fighter jets to the Russian military was reported in November 2025.
- Russian tactical aviation suffered significant losses in 2025, although its overall fleet size formally increased by the end of the year. Russia lost between 18 and 21 combat aircraft of this class during the year.
