Quote: "We are launching a logistics lockdown of the Russian army and scaling up middle-strike attacks on enemy rear areas... Our task is to further increase pressure on the Russians behind the front line and deprive them of the ability to conduct active assault operations."

Details: During the first stage of the programme, the Ministry of Defence, together with the General Staff, has allocated an additional UAH 5 billion (around US$113 million) directly to military units for the procurement of modern middle-strike systems.

Fedorov said the funding will be distributed to the most effective brigades and units through the e-points system – teams specialising in destroying targets at operational depth and demonstrating the best results in this area. [E-points are earned by Ukrainian units for confirmed strikes on Russian soldiers and equipment – ed.] The first units have already received funding, and direct procurement has begun.

Quote: "At the same time, during the second stage of the programme, we are launching centralised tenders for the procurement of a large batch of middle-strike systems. Open competitions are not only about speed and scaling up production. They also create competition among manufacturers, minimise corruption risks, ensure transparency and promote the efficient use of public funds."

Details: The defence minister said that the results of the centralised procurement of middle-strike systems would already be felt on the battlefield this summer.

"The enemy will no longer feel safe, even far from the line of combat," he noted.
