Details: Fedorov said the discussions had helped align key priorities ahead of the upcoming meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group (also known as the Ramstein format).

The participants focused on strengthening air defence and countering ballistic missiles.

"The main priorities ahead of the next Ramstein meeting are: additional contributions to the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) mechanism and the purchase of PAC-3 missiles through JUMPSTART; the supply of extended-range artillery ammunition under the Czech Initiative; and financing Ukrainian drone production," the defence minister said.

Fedorov stressed that international support must be quickly transformed into concrete results for troops on the line of contact.

"Alongside international mechanisms, it is critically important to maintain and scale up bilateral support from partners in order to implement Ukraine's defence strategy and strengthen the defence forces' technological advantage," he concluded.

  • At the Ramstein meeting on 15 April, Rutte said that NATO members will provide Ukraine with US$60 billion in military support in 2026, not including funds from the EU's €90 billion loan package for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
  • New contributions to the PURL programme from five partners were also confirmed.
