Details: Representatives of the defence ministries of both countries have signed the relevant agreement. A new joint venture called Airlogix-Sentinel is being established under the deal. It will bring together the Ukrainian defence tech company Airlogix and the Canadian unmanned systems manufacturer Sentinel Research and Development. The drones produced will be supplied to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The Defence Ministry noted that for the Canadian side, the partnership opens up opportunities for "expanding manufacturing capabilities in the field of critical technologies and gaining access to effective solutions for modern warfare".
"Ukraine and Canada will continue to work on joint solutions that meet the security interests of both countries within a win-win partnership and the Ukrainian defence strategy," the statement read.
Background: It was reported at the end of April that Ukraine and Norway are creating their first joint production of Ukrainian drones, with plans to manufacture several thousand mid-range drones on Norwegian territory.
