Donald Trump's physician has said after examining the US president that he is in "excellent health" and "fully fit" to carry out his duties as commander-in-chief.

Trump, 79, said following the three-hour examination on Tuesday that everything had gone "PERFECTLY".

The president weighed 238 pounds (108 kg), which is 14 pounds (6 kg) more than during his medical examination in April 2025. Doctors advised him on diet, physical activity and weight management but concluded that his "cognitive and physical performance are excellent".

Standing at 1.9 metres (6 feet 3 inches), the president has a body mass index of 29.7. A BMI of 30 or above is considered obese by medical standards.

The report also documents bruises on Trump's hands, which are explained as "minor soft tissue irritation related to frequent handshaking", and notes that this is "a common and benign effect of aspirin therapy". Among the recommendations was a switch to low-dose aspirin.

Last year, the White House said Trump was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a relatively common condition in older adults that causes blood to pool in the legs. His most recent medical report noted "slight lower leg swelling" but added that there had been "improvement from last year".

His physician reported no abnormalities, stating that Trump demonstrated robust cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological and general health.

"His demanding daily schedule, including multiple high-level meetings, public engagements, and regular physical activity, continues to support his overall well-being," the physician noted.

Trump underwent the Montreal Cognitive Assessment again, which is used to screen for dementia and cognitive impairment. Trump's doctors reported that he scored 30 out of 30, matching his scores from last year and 2018.
