Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that current US anti-ballistic missile production volumes are insufficient relative to present-day challenges.

Quote: "There is not enough anti-ballistic missile production in the United States and this could lead to a crisis in different parts of the world. Russia is ramping up its internal production of ballistic missiles."

Details: The president said that he had sent a corresponding letter to the White House and the US Congress.

"60-65 anti-ballistic missiles per month, compared to current challenges, is nothing. It is no secret and Russia knows this. We need to expand the production. I asked the previous US administration, and I am asking today's administration to give Ukraine licences to produce Patriot missiles," Zelenskyy specified.

Zelenskyy also stressed that Ukraine can increase Patriot missile production, which would help not only Ukraine but also countries in the Middle East and other states that the United States decides to support.

He added that until European anti-ballistic missile production is established, Ukraine will require US support.

According to Lockheed Martin and RTX, the Patriot system can use various types of missiles, including PAC-2 GEM-T and PAC-3 MSE. The PAC-3 MSE is a modern interceptor missile designed to engage ballistic targets using a hit-to-kill method, while the PAC-2 GEM-T is capable of intercepting tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and aircraft.

Some PAC-2 GEM-T missiles for Ukrainian Patriot air defence systems are to be produced at a new facility in Germany.
