Ukrainian Navy issues statement on drone incident in Romania, says vessel lost control due to electronic warfare

The Ukrainian Navy has said that one of its uncrewed surface vessels lost control under the influence of Russian electronic warfare systems while carrying out tasks in the Black Sea operational zone and subsequently drifted towards the Romanian coast.

Background:

• On the morning of 5 June, the port of Constanța in Romania was urgently evacuated after an uncrewed surface vessel exploded there.
• According to Romanian media outlet Digi24, the drone became stuck in a pollution-control barrier several hundred metres from an oil terminal. No one was injured in the explosion.
