Details: This is the sixth temporary ceasefire declared in the area of the ZNPP.
Under the supervision of IAEA experts, Ukrainian and Russian experts will begin repairing damage to the 750-kV Dniprovska power transmission line over the coming days following extensive demining of the area.
The 750-kV transmission line has been out of service since March. Since 24 March, the ZNPP has been receiving power solely through the 330-kV Ferosplavna-1 backup line.
Quote: "This time, preparations for the repairs have been complicated by the location of the power line damage: on top of high pylons across the line of control in the Dnipro River."
Background:
- The Zaporizhzhia Thermal Power Plant, whose switchyard helps transmit electricity to the ZNPP, came under a heavy attack on the morning of 4 June.
- On the night of 2-3 June, the ZNPP experienced its 17th blackout since being occupied by Russian forces and the fifth since the beginning of 2026.
