Details: Macron added that he has invited all members of the Coalition of the Willing to come to Paris on 13 and 14 July for a structured meeting of the coalition.
He said he has also invited the Coalition of the Willing to take part in France's national holiday on 14 July, Bastille Day.
This year's Bastille Day military parade will be Macron's last before he leaves office and will give him an opportunity to underscore political support for Ukraine.
The Coalition of the Willing has been under French command since November 2025 and is due to move to British leadership in July.
The format brings together around 25 countries that have pledged to deploy a multinational force in Ukraine after a peace deal with Russia is reached.
Background:
- After a meeting on 24 February, more than 30 countries participating in the Coalition of the Willing confirmed their role in providing multi-layered security guarantees for Ukraine with US support.
- On 6 January, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a declaration of intent on deploying troops in Ukraine if a peace agreement is concluded.
