Russians strike grain storage facility in Chornomorsk
A grain storage facility belonging to Ukrainian agricultural holding company Kernel was damaged during a Russian drone attack on the port of Chornomorsk in Odesa Oblast on the night of 4-5 June.

Details: Part of the terminal's grain storage and transshipment infrastructure was damaged. As a result, grain spilled outside the facility and terminal operations were disrupted. Auxiliary warehouse facilities were also partially destroyed.
"The most important thing is that none of our employees were injured. The company is currently working to deal with the aftermath of the attack and assess the extent of the damage and the associated losses," Kernel said.
The company stressed that all contractual obligations to partners would be fulfilled on time, noting that "Kernel has an effective system for adapting its logistics chains to current challenges."
Background:
- On 19 May, a Kernel grain storage complex in Khmelnytskyi Oblast was damaged during a Russian overnight drone attack.
- On the night of 2-3 May, Russian drones attacked port infrastructure in Chornomorsk, Odesa Oblast, damaging a vegetable oil transshipment terminal belonging to Kernel.
- In August 2024, an oilseed processing plant belonging to Kernel in Ukraine's west was damaged in a Russian drone attack.
