More power cuts reported across several Ukrainian oblasts following Russian attacks

Further electricity outages have been recorded in Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk oblasts as of the morning of 8 June due to Russian attacks.

Details: Energy workers have already begun emergency repair work where the security situation permits and are getting damaged equipment back up and running.

Ukrenergo is advising people to shift their main electricity consumption to the period between 10:00 and 16:00, when industrial solar power plants are operating at peak efficiency.

Consumers are being asked to limit the use of high-powered appliances in the evening, between 18:00 and 22:00.

Background:

• A Russian attack damaged a DTEK energy facility in Odesa Oblast, leaving over 1,000 households temporarily without power.
• On the night of 7-8 June, Russian forces attacked Ukraine using 155 Shahed, Gerbera and Italmas attack drones, Banderol loitering munitions and Parodiya decoy drones.
