A six-year-old girl who came under a Russian attack on a playground in Kherson together with her family has been discharged from a children's hospital in the city.

Details: The girl's father was killed in the attack, while her mother and younger sister were injured and remain under medical treatment.

After her condition stabilised, the injured three-year-old girl was transferred from Mykolaiv to Kyiv's Okhmatdyt children's hospital. The child has regained consciousness and is breathing on her own.

Her six-year-old sister was discharged from a hospital in Kherson following surgery and is in a satisfactory condition. Doctors continue to fight to save the life of the girls' mother, who is in intensive care. She is currently being treated by medical staff in Kyiv.

Quote: "The woman sustained extremely severe injuries. However, thanks to the coordinated work of doctors, complications related to injuries to the abdominal organs were avoided, and her condition is currently stable."

Details: The family's two other children – an adult daughter and her minor brother – continue to receive support from the children's services department.

  • On 27 May, Russian forces attacked a playground in Kherson. The strike affected an entire family: the father was killed, while the mother and two daughters were injured.
  • The three-year-old girl was taken to Mykolaiv with severe blast injuries and multiple wounds across her body. She underwent surgery to remove shrapnel from her head.
