Russians strike energy facility in Kyiv: 35,000 households without power

Russian forces have damaged a production facility belonging to DTEK, the largest private energy company in Ukraine, during their large-scale combined strike on the capital, cutting power to 140,000 households.

Details: After the all-clear was given, power was brought back to 105,000 of the 140,000 households left without electricity.

According to information from DTEK provided by Pop, 35,000 households remain without power. She also reported that Russian forces damaged a DTEK production facility.

Background:

  • On the night of 14-15 June, Russian forces carried out a combined strike on the capital, killing four people and injuring 25.
  • Ukraine's Emergency Service reported damage and fires in all districts of the city, with emergency response services working at approximately 50 locations.
  • Law enforcement closed traffic on certain road sections in the Solomianskyi, Obolonskyi, Pecherskyi and Desnianskyi districts of the capital following the overnight attack and public transport routes have been changed.
