Details: Staff said the fire was likely caused by a Shahed drone strike. Emergency services are currently working at the scene.

"We are determining the extent of the damage and assessing the consequences for the institution's building. Fortunately, all our staff are safe," the museum said in a statement.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine said the fire engulfed the building of the Mystetskyi Arsenal National Cultural, Arts and Museum Complex, covering an area of approximately 1,000 sq m.

"While the firefighters were trying to put out the fire in the main cathedral of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, the occupiers launched a second strike nearby, targeting the Mystetskyi Arsenal National Cultural, Arts and Museum Complex," he wrote.
