Ukrainian Defence Industry unveils UAV-290 jet-powered strike drone with 100 kg payload capacity

Ukrainian Defence Industry, Ukraine's largest arms manufacturer, also known as Ukroboronprom, has unveiled the UAV-290, a kamikaze drone equipped with a turbojet engine, at the Eurosatory-2026 exhibition in Paris.

The UAV-290 is positioned as a system designed to engage stationary ground and maritime targets. It is launched using a solid-fuel booster from a mobile platform, then transitions into cruise flight, where its turbojet engine enables speeds of up to 800 km/h.

The drone uses a combination of inertial navigation and GPS for positioning. It is also reported to be equipped with a radar altimeter.

The system is capable of engaging targets at ranges of up to 650 km and carries a 100 kg warhead.

Previously, the Ukrainian Defence Industry presented the model and specifications of the Peklo ("Hell") drone missile at the Eurosatory defence exhibition in Paris.
