"In my view, it is a very important signal that all G7 countries – and this was confirmed today throughout our summit – fully support Ukraine. All countries condemned the strikes on civilian infrastructure, on our people, on the [Kyiv Pechersk] Lavra. I showed some photographs of the strikes, the fires and our people heroically putting out the blaze. Everyone condemns [the strikes]," Zelenskyy said.

He emphasised that all G7 leaders "do not truly understand the logic of the leader of aggressive Russia".

"Everyone believes that, in any case, the war must be stopped. That is logical. Everyone believes that… Putin does not want to end [the war], but he must be forced – primarily through sanctions. This is what all countries said," the Ukrainian leader stressed.

He added that "the entire G7 will also work to strengthen our defence".
