Russian-installed authorities in Crimea ban riding motorbikes at night because they sound like drones

The Russian-installed occupation authorities in Crimea have banned the use of motorbikes and similar vehicles on the peninsula in the evening and at night from 17 June.

Source: Kremlin-aligned Russian media outlet Interfax, citing an order by Sergei Aksyonov, the Russian-appointed head of occupied Crimea

Quote: "From 17 June 2026 and until further notice, a temporary restriction is being introduced on the movement of motorcycles, mopeds, pit bikes, quad bikes, scooters and similar vehicles. The restriction will apply from 20:00 to 06:00."

Details: Aksyonov said the restrictions have been introduced to "ensure security and protect military, state and special facilities".

More details: Meanwhile, Interfax has reported that Aksyonov's adviser Oleg Kryuchkov said earlier on Krym 24, a local TV channel, that loud motor vehicles are disrupting the work of mobile fire teams because they sound similar to drones.
