Russia bans night-time motorcycle travel in Crimea, citing similarity to drone sounds

The Russian-installed occupation authorities in Crimea have banned the use of motorbikes and similar vehicles on the peninsula in the evening and at night from 17 June.

Quote: "From 17 June 2026 and until further notice, a temporary restriction is being introduced on the movement of motorcycles, mopeds, pit bikes, quad bikes, scooters and similar vehicles. The restriction will apply from 20:00 to 06:00."

Details: Aksyonov said the restrictions have been introduced to "ensure security and protect military, state and special facilities".

More details: Meanwhile, Interfax reported that Aksyonov's adviser Oleg Kryuchkov earlier said on the local Krym 24 TV channel that loud motor vehicles are disrupting the work of mobile fire teams because they sound similar to drones.
