Su-24M aircraft crashes in Khmelnytskyi Oblast, both crew members killed

A Su-24M frontline bomber belonging to the 7th Petro Franko Tactical Aviation Brigade crashed in Khmelnytskyi Oblast on the evening of 16 June, killing both crew members.

Quote: "At around 19:00 on 16 June 2026, a Su-24M frontline bomber of the 7th Petro Franko Tactical Aviation Brigade crashed.

The Su-24M crew – the pilot and navigator – were carrying out a mission in Khmelnytskyi Oblast.

Sadly, both aviators were killed."

Details: The Air Force identified those who were killed as Major Bohdan Zaharulko and Senior Lieutenant Bohdan Babenko.

Rescue workers and law enforcement officers are operating at the crash site. Early reports indicate that there were no civilian casualties.

The causes and circumstances of the crash are being investigated.
