"Call that can bring about significant change": Zelenskyy speaks with Trump and Macron
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has held a phone call with US President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron following the G7 summit.

Quote from Zelenskyy: "I have just spoken with US President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron. It was an important coordination call that can bring about significant change. We reviewed the outcomes of our talks at the G7 Summit.
I am grateful to President Trump for his attention to Ukraine and his readiness to help bring peace closer."
Details: Zelenskyy also thanked Macron for the "excellent organisation of the Summit and for consistently strong joint efforts".
Background:
- Following the G7 summit, Trump said that he had had "very good talks" with both Russian ruler Vladimir Putin and Zelenskyy, stating that both leaders want to end the war but do not know how.
- Trump also stated that he is considering reinstating sanctions on Russian oil following the temporary exemption that had been introduced amid soaring global energy prices caused by the conflict with Iran.
- Trump further pledged to consider Ukraine's request for licences to produce air defence systems.
