Yuri Ushakov, an aide to Russian leader Vladimir Putin, has claimed that European leaders "fed" US President Donald Trump "harmful ideas" at the Group of Seven summit in France.

Details: Asked whether European leaders could influence the US president, Ushakov said: "The Europeans exert an unhelpful influence, that is clear, but Trump is also a strong politician and sticks to his own views."

"The Ukraine issue was actively discussed during the G7 summit meeting. It's fair to assume that Trump was, I would say, probably fed unhelpful, if not harmful ideas," he said.

According to Ushakov, no interactions between Russia and the US have taken place after the summit in France.
