German defence minister: "We must learn from Ukraine"
German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius has said that following Ukraine's technological advances in drone warfare, European partners now have much to learn from Ukraine, which has gained unique combat experience and developed innovative capabilities.

Details: Pistorius emphasised that Ukraine's continued progress in the use of unmanned systems and the digitalisation of battlefield management has accelerated reconnaissance, target acquisition and other military processes. He also highlighted the development of mid-range strike UAVs and the establishment of dedicated units within Ukraine's defence forces specialising in attack drones.
He recalled that he had been able to see the work of Ukrainian service members for himself during a visit to Ukrainian command posts near Zaporizhzhia and Dnipro with Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
Quote: "I was deeply impressed by the great professionalism of Ukraine's soldiers and by their innovative warfare tactics, and I'm convinced that this type of warfare will be groundbreaking for us in many ways. We must learn from Ukraine. Our partnership is no longer a one-way street and hasn't been for a long time."
Details: Pistorius also noted that the situation in the war has begun to shift in Ukraine's favour.
"Putin has reached a dead end. His illegal attack on Ukraine continues to cause enormous losses among his troops. The Kremlin can no longer hide the negative effects of this war against Ukraine. Its implications are increasingly felt by the Russian population … What Ukraine is doing in bringing the war to where it came from is really impressive," the German minister said, adding that continued support from Ukraine's partners has contributed to these results.
Background:
