Details: Belousov said AI is currently used in Russian drones mainly in two areas: image recognition and automatic target acquisition, and navigation. He added that these capabilities depend on training the neural networks.

Belousov said the ministry is introducing the DC software and hardware system, which he claims accumulates data for training neural networks and is already being deployed in all groups of Russian forces.

Belousov also said the Russian Defence Ministry is working on the use of artificial intelligence to support decision-making in air defence.

Quote: "We are also actively working on this now, I mean air defence. This is one of the seven projects we must implement by the end of this year."

More details: Belousov said several civilian companies have already been involved in developing this area, with the results expected by November.

Background: Earlier, Serhii "Flash" Beskrestnov, an adviser to the Ukrainian defence minister and radio technology expert, outlined the capabilities of Russian Shahed-type attack drones in autonomously acquiring and engaging targets.
